“Working with Danielle on our project in Midtown East was a pleasure from start to finish.  Her attention to detail, sense of organization, taste level and ability to understand our vision was remarkable.  Her responsiveness and follow-up was so helpful and (without a designer on board) she constantly provided design guidance and expertise to keep the overall aesthetic consistent.  She transformed a very vanilla and terribly dated space into a "jewel box pied a terre" that belongs in a quaint Paris neighborhood.  Every guest and anyone who has seen photos has been amazed by the transformation and by the architectural details in every corner and finish.  Her strong relationships with contractors and suppliers made such a huge difference as well.  Class act and incredibly professional.”

“Danielle Albert is one-of-a-kind. Not only is she an incredibly talented architect - she is also an all-around phenomenal person. Danielle was recommended by one of the most highly sought after contractors in the city. Hiring her was the best decision I could have made. She made our gut renovation easy and seamless, something I didn’t think was even possible. Danielle is technically talented, creative, solution- driven, patient, incredibly detail-oriented, unusually hard working and beyond caring and kind. Perhaps the biggest advantage to hiring Danielle is that she is a one-woman show. Because of that, absolutely nothing fell through the cracks. There was no passing things off to different principals - she owned absolutely everything with our project and it made all the difference. I simply can’t say enough good things about Danielle - words just don’t do her justice. I feel so lucky to have been introduced to her - both professionally and personally and genuinely miss interacting with her on a daily basis.”

“Danielle Albert is the one of the most patient, thoughtful, diligent and talented architects we have ever worked with. The project entailed a complete gut rehabilitation of a century old Soho penthouse duplex. She brought a calm confidence to our project both in the development of the design and the oversight of its implementation. She masterly navigated the competing demands of the Board of the building, the DoB, and most important her clients. We would recommend her without reservation.”

“Working with Danielle was an absolute pleasure! She went above and beyond the call of duty to answer all of our questions - even if they related to aesthetic matters not strictly in her purview. She is lovely to deal with and most importantly, designed us a perfect kitchen that is both beautiful and functional. We are extremely happy with the work she did for us and happily recommend her to everyone we know looking for an architect.”

"I contracted with Danielle Albert to renovate my apartment on Irving Place in NYC and was very pleased with the results. The kitchen and bathroom came out great. Danielle’s excellent sense of design enabled us to maintain the original character of the prewar space yet update it enough to provide a fresh new look. Her attention to detail made her such a pleasure to work with. I would definitely work with Danielle on future projects and highly recommend her."

“Danielle Albert has been the architect in charge of the extensive renovations of my 4400 sq ft Manhattan apartment. She worked seamless with the numerous contractors involved including the designer, lighting designer, general contractor, kitchen installers, specialist paint and plaster finishers, HVAC and A/V specialist, and she worked with my building management and the city regulators. In each of these areas she was involved in the detail of the jobs. For example, the living room was lined with timber so detailed plans were drawn up for the exact placement of the panelling and rebates, the mouldings, the cladding of the pillars, the raised and fielded doors, the bookcases. Danielle worked with the lighting designer for the lighting in the bookcases and for the art, the regulators for the  movement of some sprinklers, the HVAC team for installing humidifiers to preserve the timber. Many of the rooms had Venetian plaster wall  finishes or high gloss ceilings which involved specialist prep work, some areas had a straw marquetry wall finish, and all the rooms had centralised control for lighting, blinds, HVAC etc. This involved numerous sets of plans. Danielle managed all this and the contractors of whom some were terrific but some seriously underperformed. Throughout this process I was in Asia. Danielle ensured that I got to sign off on all the items that affected the aesthetic or practicalities of living in the apartment, but she dealt with all the technical issues herself, such as dealing with the city building department and the condo board. She also had the foresight and experience to come to me with items that I had not previously considered: the installation of a water sensing system for leaks, or the blocking of the walls in the main rooms so that picture rails could be installed to carry the art works. And she has a good eye for small things that are not totally right.

Danielle was a delight to work with. I put my trust in her and she repaid it in full. I returned after eighteen months to a refurbished apartment with which I am delighted. I sincerely hope she is available to work with me on my next project. “

"Danielle was a pleasure to work with. First and foremost, she is a wonderful person. She has an unrivalled eye for detail but always with a view to the big picture and how everything will fit and work together as a whole. My kitchen, for example, is small but Danielle made the most of it with a thoughtful arrangement of appliances and storage space to maximize every square inch. Another example is the lighting throughout the apartment. Danielle worked closely with a lighting designer to ensure that my artwork – as well as the beautiful living room paneling - was illuminated properly. Danielle worked very well with my designer and contractor and was my “point person” at the weekly site meetings. She reported back to me on a weekly basis complete with photographs and a list of choices to be made at that point in the renovation. She was my eyes and ears on site throughout the renovation and was always quick to respond to my questions. This was particularly important to me as I live out of town. The apartment is beautiful yet eminently livable and comfortable. Danielle played a leading role in creating my dream pied-a-terre in New York City. Thank you, Danielle!"

"We really recommend Danielle for her professionalism and attention to detail. Danielle got us the required permits and helped us find our preferred bathroom plumbing fixtures, tiles, lighting, and even designed the cabinetry. Throughout, Danielle was on top of the project, working with the builder to ensure proper execution of the design and was responsive to our questions. Danielle got exactly what we wanted in terms of design. The bathroom is stunning yet also functional. She was amazing at helping us choose between all the available products out there and the result is wonderful. Danielle also worked on resolving technical aspects of our kitchen. She was very professional in providing and documenting the work and steps required to complete the work. Providing supporting estimates and professional architectural designs for both the bathroom and kitchen. Throughout the process she also reviewed the builder's costs, work required, and provided guidance on what questions to ask from each to ensure clear and accountable estimates."

“Danielle Albert worked with my wife and I in a complete renovation of an eight-room 1905 apartment in poor condition. This came to hundreds of choices from large matters to almost unnoticeable but important detail. Through it all we were very glad to have Danielle’s caring, perceptive presence as architect. From a hypothetical conversation about moving two doorways one afternoon, we saw its effect in a detailed elevation drawing the next morning …and are so glad we did what we saw. This particular client fancied himself in no need of a designer large as the project was. But in Danielle as architect we really also had a designer. She was excellent at sourcing both materials and objects. And above all, she was at all times a calm pleasant spirit of the project, perfect for a renovated home to start out its new life.”

"I had the pleasure of collaborating on a project in Brooklyn Heights recently with Danielle Albert. Our project had 'many moving parts' as they say and a very demanding time-line. Danielle's inventiveness & thoroughness made the process go smoothly. She is one of the best architects I have worked with on both personal and professional levels and I look forward to working with Danielle Albert Architect in the future."

"Danielle's dedication and work for my company was always exemplary. She is one of the most talented and capable associates I have known. She is a true self starter and anticipates the requirements for any project. A true gem."

"Danielle did a gut renovation of my apartment over 4-month period from May through July 2014. We designed the scope of work over prior few months, which involved fully built out made-to-measure kitchen, brand new bathrooms, relocation and door replacements across full apartment, ceiling moldings, new flooring and baseboards, skim-coating, as well as a lot of custom woodwork, such as book shelves and closets. Danielle is an outstanding architect. Going into such large renovation, I was prepared by numerous friends and family to expect a “disaster” management rather than “renovation” management. My experience was nothing but the opposite. From co-op board approval process to obtaining permits, the process was very easy. Danielle was always available to discuss progress of the renovation. Any issues were immediately raised to my attention. Most surprisingly, we were on schedule with zero delays or neighbor complaints. All-in-all, the completed project was done in immaculate manner. From paint to woodwork, all finishes were given tremendous attention to detail and I am absolutely thrilled to have a home that is so well designed and renovated."

"After purchasing a studio apartment just adjacent to our existing one bedroom apartment on the Upper East Side in Manhattan, we commissioned Danielle Albert to combine the two apartments into one apartment with two bedrooms and some special features that we desired. Almost immediately after she started, we knew that we had made the right choice. Danielle’s enthusiasm for the project was infectious, and what could have been a stressful undertaking proved to be an exciting adventure for all of us. Danielle was always eager to listen to our suggestions, answer our questions, settle our concerns and keep us constantly involved. She had creative and inspiring ideas that just flowed out her with ease. We quickly settled on a great scheme that she formulated. It incorporated all of needs in a creative way. In the process, we especially appreciated her conscientiousness regarding costs and always gave us a range of alternatives to consider. Danielle always delivered the drawings and specifications at the time that she promised. She proved to be extremely reliable. Also of great concern to us was the process involved in getting approvals and permits in the heart of New York City. Here too, Danielle showed her excellence. All of her submissions were carefully prepared in a very professional matter, and as a result, both the Condo’s Board and the NYC Building Department approvals were obtained with apparent ease. In addition to these services, Danielle did the interior design work for all of the bathrooms, the new kitchen and all of the millwork. We were extremely impressed with her ability to be the “complete Architect” and at the same time being such a charming a person, with an infectious smile -- Just a joy to work with. We couldn’t be more pleased."

"I met Danielle when she was working at a firm. The firm was recommended by my interior decorator at the time. I hired the firm and Danielle was assigned as the architect on my project – gut renovation to a one bedroom Manhattan apartment. I ultimately parted ways with both Danielle’s prior firm and my decorator, but continued to have a close working relationship with Danielle because she is a brilliant architect. She is everything that you would want and expect – she is meticulous with details, she is extremely professional, very creative and thinks outside the box, always dependable, listens to her clients, honest to a fault, plays nicely in the sandbox with the other contractors and was an overall delight to work with. Danielle was a real rock for me throughout the entire renovation process. Not knowing what I was in for (this was my first reno), she steered me through all of the permit processes, the asbestos removals, certifying the quality of work by my contractor and ensuring that all of the final paperwork was completed with the city. She always met deadlines and followed up when I didn’t or my contractors didn’t. My contractors also enjoyed working with Danielle and completely respected her for her quality of work and professionalism. Danielle also went above and beyond and acted as my project manager. She listened closely to me (this is soooooo incredibly important and shocking that most service providers don’t listen). She recommended both a kitchen designer and new interior decorator that were exactly in line with my style and taste and budget. We picked out tiles and appliances and fixtures together. I wouldn’t have known where to start without her. Another very important factor for me was that during the renovations I was working outside of the city and had very limited flexibility in when I could meet face to face. Danielle was completely accommodating, she met early mornings, late afternoons, weekends, whenever we could arrange a time. She was always within budget and never overcharged or sent “surprise” bills. All in all, I really enjoyed renovating my apartment. Without Danielle holding my hand the entire way, I am sure that it would have been much more stressful. Now, I have a fantastic new apartment and I have Danielle to thank for it!"
